Tech : Integrating Pinterest and Facebook
I am a huge fan of If This Then That (IFTTT). It simplifies my life and seamlessly integrates my various Internet of Things devices (Withings Activité watch) and frequently used iPhone apps. As far as innovation goes, IFTTT is a great example of technology solving everyday problems without interfering with our lives. When I started using the service, there were few channels with which to build recipes. But as time goes on they built it out to include more channels and more usability. Recently I noticed they added useful recipes for Facebook, Medium, Pinterest, and LinkedIn—there are even IoT hearing aid recipes available! That’s a #deafgain for #accessibility.
Keeping up with a professional online presence is time consuming so I have explored life hacks of sorts to fill out my various platforms. IFTTT has become my one-stop shop to use. At my job my team and I handle multiple brands and platforms, so I thought it would be a good place to try out some Recipes for Marketers. One recipe that we needed was missing though, posting Facebook Page photos to Pinterest. Often Pinterest is a forgotten platform since it is a non-linear timeline with users pinning without regards to time. Posting Facebook Page photos to Pinterest will passively populate a board with fresh content without doing the extra work.
